If you want to win your Super Bowl party this year with delicious Chinese flavors, try these Coca-Cola chicken wings. If you put them out for your guests at kick off, they’ll probably be gone by the end of the first quarter.

Coca-Cola chicken wings are a cousin to the soy sauce braised chicken wings popular in southern China. With their subtle, salty-sweet flavor, Coca-Cola chicken wings are a favorite in Chinese home kitchens as a quick dinner or satisfying snack.

Preparation couldn’t be easier, which is a real plus if you’re entertaining a house full of guests on game day. Essentially, you sear the chicken wings, then braise them in a bath of Coke, soy sauce, rice wine and ginger. The result is a plate of tender chicken wings with a pleasingly sticky glaze that you’ll love licking off your fingers.

Pair these wings with a beer like Tsingtao or Harbin and you’ll make a uniquely Chinese contribution to a quintessentially American sporting event. It’s exactly the kind of blending between East and West that we love.

Here’s how to make Coca-Cola chicken wings, step-by-step. The detailed tutorial with pictures and directions is at the bottom of the page.
